^{Inspired by the idea of mountain biking from Cape Point (the south eastern most point) to Green Point (the north western most point) and traversing Table Mountain National Park and Table Mountain -the length of the Peninsula - in a single attempt - the POINT2POINT Challenge has evolved into a self supported 'always on' individual/small group one-of-a-kind bike riding experience, challenging average plus riders of all ages.}

^{Modeled along the lines of the now very popular 13 Peaks Challenge for trail runners, the POINT2POINT Challenge is designed for cyclists wanting to pit themselves against a really 'Epic' style challenge experience but without the pressure of a race.}

^{The Original POINT2POINT Challenge MTB route was designed for mountain/ trail able bikes and riders taking in a variety of TMNP single track and trails traverssing the length of the Cape Peninsula - a 100+km* route with 2000+ m of vertical climbing.}

^{This route was officially suspended in June 2024 after reports on attacks on trail runners and cyclists in and around the Kleinplaas Dam, Red Hill area, through which the MTB Challenge passed.}

^{However two additional 'official' routes supplement the MTB Challenge, suitable not only for MTB riders but in fact any rider on any mode of bike:}

• ^{The POINT2POINT Challenge ROAD - an 87 km* ‘all tar’ affair offering some of the most spectacularly scenic wide shoulder road riding that the Cape Peninsula has on offer while taking in many of the Cape Peninsula's biggest climbs (just under 1300 m vertical).}

• ^{The POINT2POINT Challenge LITE - 74km* of beautifully scenic ‘all tar’ riding with just over 950m of breathless 'vista' climbing which takes in some of the world acclaimed Cape Town Cycle Tour (legacy Argus Tour) route, including the famed Chapman's Peak and Suikerbossie climbs.}

^{Once done, successful POINT2POINT Challengers log their results to appear on the POINT2POINT Challenge WALL of FAME !}

^{Successful Challengers can also join the Members Only Category Leaderboard where results are curated into categories - by Challenge, gender and bike type - ranked by fastest time.}

^{Our hope in setting up the POINT2POINT Challenge is that not only will it provide a 'fresh challenge' for local riders to test themselves against but also, over time, may become known as one of the Western Cape's top 5 cycling to-do's - #capetownsmostbeautifulcyclingchallenge #experience}
